Ok I'm still not sure how to catch Pokemon, but I think it goes something like: throwing a Pokeball at Lance have him block it, and hopefully run out of safari balls. Then weaken the target Pokemon. Alright I think I got it. Thanks for the help!

That's logical, by forcing game to think it's Safari Zone, you can make Old Man actually act like something. And there is no valid data for Trainer Pokemons in this place, so it takes wrong pointer and gets onto data which is invalid (that's right, the data of trainers is route/city/cave specific.. Of course they just increased Safari Ball counter by 1, just to save cycles. The reason why Glitch City trick is not activated is because the battle mode ends before the information will end.

I don't care WHAT people say about Pokemon Leaf Green and Fire Red. These games were the best! My first game was Pokemon Red. But I think the best game was Pokemon Crystal. Both hands down. Johto was the best series. After that, the series wasn't so good anymore.
