Sometimes when you are glitching, the game will randomly take a nearby pallet and use it to fill a blank area, in this case it took the nearing setup of land, for example, there are alot of glitched areas where you can simply want into, and you will see houses and various objects from the game, simply it's not the actual entry it's merely the game placing it there.

@Tristen001 yeah that's because the game doesn't put every NPC where they're supposed to be at all times during the game. If you go to Mt. Moon the normal way, it has to load, and the people will pop up. But since this person didn't go the normal way the game didn't recognize it and didn't load right.

It's probably just a duplicate glitch of the Mt. Moon entrance activated by the code, because he started at the beginning of the route, than went up, when the real entrance is farther east. This is my guess though.

it actually IS the Mt.Moon entrance... map data is stored in that point... when you arrive at the end of Route 3 and you start going up )(to reach the Pkmn center) game will load data from that location...

No its not. It's a beta/test version of the entrance which was left in the game. Since the area isnt accessible during normal play, the developers didn't bother removing it. BTW, the game doesn't load to a new location unless the screen blacks out. Don't make things up...

I actually make this up as you said but I based my comment on this: Try to use the 010138CD code near Viridian City... you can now walk through walls and so head up to indigo plateau. You can easily reach it even with messed up graphic (THIS IS FOR WHAT YOU SAID: new texture is not loaded until you walk in/out of buildings) so with this you can reach the pokemon league with no badges at all... The bug in the video is, for me, an opposite thing:

You comment regarding the indigo plateau actually reaffirms my point. You can walk to the indigo plateau from Viridian City without loading to it just like you walk from Pewter City to Mt Moon (the real and leftover one) as it doesn't require what is called a 'hot spot' to transport/teleport to any of those locations. The INISDE of those locations of course is a different story.

As far as I know, there's a cloned version like this for every town except Celadon, Lavender, and Fuchsia. There's also a large glitched area beneath Route 9, and a smaller glitched area above Celadon City.

To the people who just keep saying, "It's Mt. Moon." If it was 'just' Mt. Moon, then how come there's no one standing around the Pokecenter? There's usually a person or two right outside of it.

It's a copy of Mt. Moon. Not the real thing. Use the walk through walls code and keep going to the right, THAT is the real Mt. Moon, so the one right there can't possibly be the real one. Like they've said. It's a copy of sorts.

It's called messing with the borders. You can use a similar method to get in the grass that is on the side of Pallet.

If you'd pay attention, you'd see that it's some sort of glitchy unused copy of it. The real Mt. Moon was farther down and to the right, not that vertical to the entrance of that route. It's like the game designers first planned to put it there but eventually decided not to and kinda threw it aside.

Must have been leftover data from the beta version that the staff at gamefreaks forgot to get rid of.

Now that I think about it, gamefreaks must have had little or inexperienced debuging staff back then because R/B/Y is filled with glitched.
